One of the best bakeries in Westchester and the BOW awards to prove it\, you can say that Susan O’Keefe knows a thing or two about baking. Her award-winning bakery is a lovely inviting spot to visit and enjoy delicious treats. This seasoned baker will take the hard part out of building your own gingerbread centerpiece. Our host will have our houses built and ready to decorate. All gingerbread “house parts” are made and baked on the premises. Learn the recipe for “real-deal” royal icing made with egg whites and sugar that is used to hold the house together and adhere your candy treats. Reminiscent of childhood\, grab a friend and “play house” as Susan provides all the edible decorations for you to make your house whimsical and delicious. After class taste some gingerbread cookies with a cup of coffee or tea. Carefully take home your masterpiece packed for travel to enjoy this holiday season. The shop offers weekly events including music and now serves house-made Sangria along with many selections of wine\, beer and cider to purchase should you choose to imbibe. Optional additional $10 invites you to enjoy a tasty SURPRISE bag of goodies. So many baked goods to buy so order early for the holidays including their scrumptious cakes\, breads and pies! Pre-order for Wednesday’s 4-person meal “What’s for dinner\, Susie?” for a delicious dinner and dessert to go. They will be offering children’s gingerbread house decorating on their website but this is part of TOW and is an adult only hands-on class.
