TAP award is based on NYS taxable income and recipients must be New York State residents for 12 consecutive months prior to the start of the award year. Only full-time students (must have 12 credits or more–which includes at least one 15 week course–all of which must be registered before add-drop period of the 15 week course is over ) are considered for TAP and a separate TAP application must be filed in order to be considered for a TAP award. TAP awards are limited to six semesters of full-time payment or equivalent, 36 points, for a two-year program.
Part-Time TAP is available to students taking 6-11 credits who were first-time, full-time freshman after 2006-07 and who have earned 12 credits or more with a C or better average in each of two consecutive prior semesters.
Accelerated TAP Award is effective for semesters starting after January 1, 2007, students may also be eligible for a TAP award for accelerated study during the summer semester. To qualify, students must have earned at least 24 credits applicable to their degree in the prior two semesters.
Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) is available to matriculated undergraduate students who are New York State residents enrolled for 3-11 credits for the fall or spring terms. At least 3 of these credits must be ACADEMIC. Student will be funded for only one remedial course per semester when it is paired with at least three or more non-remedial credits. A separate APTS application must be completed at the Financial Aid Office and eligibility is based on NYS net taxable income. APTS Funds are limited. Award amounts provide up to $2,000 per year for part-time study (cannot exceed tuition charges).
Educational Opportunity Program Grant is available to students enrolled in the EOP program at SUNY WCC. In order to be considered for the EOP program students apply as an incoming freshman during the admissions application process.
