Faculty-Student Association

About the FSA?

The Faculty-Student Association (FSA) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization registered by the State of New York. Since 1953, the FSA has provided educational related services to benefit Westchester Community College including oversight of all campus dining services, bookstore, vending & ATM services. We value student opinions and encourage input from students on a regular basis. Three students serve on the twelve member Faculty-Student Association Board of Directors, as well as on a variety of committees.

FSA Mission Statement

The Faculty-Student Association endeavors to be a most effective service component for Westchester Community College. Our goal is to provide strategic vision and leadership by striving to deliver world class administrative, financial, and other essential services that support student success. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all campus constituencies including students, faculty, staff, administration and community.

FSA Student Accident and Sickness Insurance

The College will not offer Voluntary Student Sickness Insurance policies as of September 2015. However, please find information on your eligibility for individual coverage at the Benefits Access Center Office. The Benefits Access Center is available to all Westchester Community College students and their immediate family members.

ATM Locations

There are two (2) ATM machines located on campus. One is located on the first floor of the Student Center across from the Crema Café and the other is located across from Siegel Cafe in the Gateway building.

The Student Center & Gateway Hours are:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

A security camera monitors the ATMs 24 hours a day.

Bookstore

College Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble Education

The College Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble Education is conveniently located within the David Swope Student Center. The Bookstore provides a wide array of merchandise which includes academic textbooks and study guides and is also a convenient one-stop shopping for snacks, metro-cards, college apparel, supplies, stationery, and gift items.

Our mission is to ensure student success by being the most efficient and reliable provider of academic textbooks and technology and the convenient one-stop campus store for quality college attire, supplies, stationary, health and beauty aids and gift items.

Student Activity Fee

The Student Activity Fee provides funding for the College’s Student Involvement and Athletics Departments and for student-run organizations including the Student Government Association, Westchester Events Board, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Student Service Fee

The Student Service Fee provides funding for the College’s Student Life departments, Security Department, and Commencement.

Cultural Arts Fee

The Cultural Arts Fee provides funding for student arts programs sponsored by the School of Arts & Humanities, including Viking Theatricals, Musicology, Dance Collaborative, the Art Gallery, student literary journals, as well as for student-run organizations including The Viking News and Power 88.1 FM Radio Station.

Dining Services

Our mission is to operate a college dining service with the highest standards of quality and service at the best value.

The Viking Café (main cafeteria), located in the Student Center Building, serves students, faculty, and staff. The Viking Cafe offers a wide variety of food options, fresh made salad bar, made-to- order sandwiches and hot meals. Other locations include the Crema Café in the Student Center where We Proudly Serve a full line of Starbucks hot and cold beverages and the Siegel Café in the Gateway Center.
