Family Orientation

Family Orientation

In addition to the New and Transfer Student Orientation for all first-time, full-time, new, and transfer students, we also offer an optional Family Orientation for parents, guardians, relatives, partners, and other family members of SUNY Westchester students.

Family Orientation gives families the chance to learn about the many services, resources, and opportunities available to support their student’s success. It’s also a great way to better understand the new responsibilities and challenges students may face as they begin their college journey. Family Orientation features a formal, panel-style discussion that provides valuable insights into the SUNY Westchester experience. Family members will hear directly from college staff about how they can support their student and stay connected throughout their time at the College.

Upcoming Orientation Sessions:

There will be two Family Orientation programs offered in either English or Spanish.

  • Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

If a family member is planning to attend, please register them upon registering yourself.

To register for Family Orientation, simply complete the New and Transfer Student Orientation registration form available at www.sunywcc.edu/new-and-transfer-student-orientation.

IMPORTANT: Attendance at Family Orientation does not meet the Orientation requirement for incoming students as it is a distinct experience to New and Transfer Student Orientation.

If you have any questions about Family Orientation, feel free to contact the Department of Student Involvement at [email protected]. We’re happy to help!

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to the SUNY WCC community!
